De Bossche Koek is een cultuurgoed dat bijna verloren is gegaan, als niet in februari 2001 een kleine jongen van 4 jaar (Jules) de oude recepten van de “Bossche Koek” van zijn grootvader Jan de Backer terug vond. De familie De Backer onderzocht of dit volgens het traditionele recept gebakken kon worden.

Dat is gelukt; Koekhuys Jan de Backer slaagde erin om de oorspronkelijke smaak weer terug te krijgen van die Bossche Koek.
