Sam van Tol was in 2015 als student Strategic Entrepreneurship in Zuid-Afrika, waar hij werd geconfronteerd met analfabetisme en het gebrek aan gedegen lesmateriaal. Schrijven zonder papier valt niet mee. Van Tol zocht naar een oplossing. Er zijn maar liefst 250 miljoen kinderen die niet leren lezen en schrijven, terwijl dat wel zou moeten en kunnen.
